Kembara is run by Blackridge Group Co., Ltd., a company registered in Thailand. This page explains what the app and the website record, why, and how to have it removed.
What a runner’s phone records
During a race the app records the phone’s position, with the time, so that it can punch controls and draw the route afterwards. The track is kept with the race result. Outside a race the app does not record position.
A runner does not need an account. The phone gets an anonymous identity, and the name, team and bib typed in are kept with the event they were typed in for.
What an organiser gives us
An email address to sign in, the organisation’s name and home region, the events, courses and entries they make, and payment details handled by Stripe. We never see a card number.
Live pages and results
The organiser chooses whether live positions are shown, with what delay, and whether results show a full name, a first name or a bib number. Entries marked as minors show a bib number only.
Where it is kept
Each event belongs to a region (Asia, Europe or the United States) chosen by the organiser, and its data is kept in that region.
Removing your data
A runner can delete their data from the app’s settings. An organiser can delete an event, which removes every entry, punch and track in it. Write to privacy@kembara.run for anything else.
